Northumbrias junior players flocked to play in the Newton Aycliffe junior open on the 5th and 6th of December.
Boys U17- Elliott Park and Harry Carr made it to the quarter-finals losing out to David Gardner and Danny Hockburn respectively. Cole Windscheffel and Barney Wareing made it to the plate final with Windscheffel winning 3-0.
Girls U17- Sam Ward and Lucy Beecroft contested the final of this on with Ward coming out on top and taking the title.
Boys U15 – Simon Grabham made it through to the final losing out in a close 3-0 to number 1 seed Luke Mabbott, Simon Graham made the semi and Richard Ridgway and Steven Twaddle making the quarters.
Girls U15 – Maria Bainbridge won the title beating Yorkshire’s Jess Watson in the final.
Boys U13 – Chris Wiggins upset the seedings making the final where he lost out to number 1 seed Joe Dale. Adam Bainbridge lost in the semis and ended up 4th.
Girls U13 – Laura Neill made it to the final after beating number 1 seed Gabriella Mawson in the semi-final, she lost in the final to Millie Soulby.
Mixed U11 – Michael Mattimore won this event after beating fellow Northumbrian Joe Wareing in the semis and Yorkshires Elliott Ridge in the final.
