Chapel Allerton Junior Event Results

Many of our top county juniors travelled down to Leeds to compete in the Chapel Allerton Junior Open. The event was an England Squash Silver event attracting some of the countries best players and providing stiff competition for Northumbrias youngsters.

Lucy Beecroft however is used to competing at the very highest level and once again proved this winning the Girls U15 event beating Lily Taylor 3-2 in the final. Maria bainbridge also played well in this age group having lost out to Taylor at the semi-final stage she finished a credible 4th place. Also in this event was Caitlin Vitty.

Alex Robertson performed very well in the boys U13’s, having beaten Northumbria team mate Chris Wiggins from 2-0 down in the first round he then lost out to the number 1 seed in the last 16, from there onwards he played 3 more matches winning 2 and finished a very impressive 10th place. also competing in the u13’s were Jamie Todd and Adam Bainbridge both losing out in the ‘B’ event and Michael Mattimore lost in the ‘B’ event plate final.

Simon Graham finished highest of our players in the U15 event ending up 14th in a very strong field of players. Simon Grabham having lost in the first round went on to win the ‘B’ event effectively finishing 17th over all. Also competing in this event was Elliott Carr and Dan Wareing.

Laura Neill ended as plate runner-up in the girls u13 losing out to Millie Soulby after a a good run against tough competition, also playing in the girls u13 was Erin Vitty.

Great to see so many of our juniors travelling to compete amongst some of the countries best and showing they are not too far away.
