The Inter County Championships are the largest event that England Squash run with over 2000 players representing their counties in 20 categories throughout the season.
The Championships provide competitive opportunities for players beyond club level in a team environment, and the opportunity to represent their county.
On the weekend of the 15th and 16th November at the Northumberland Club, Jesmond, the men’s over 45’s County team will be playing Yorkshire, Merseyside and Derbyshire in Division One looking to get into the promotion group later in March 2015.
A rare occasion! Everybody is welcome to come along to watch top class squash, and to cheer on Team Northumbria!
Matches are Saturday 15th at 1pm, Saturday at 5pm and then Sunday 16th at 11.00am.

Hey man, I was down at Jesmond today watching the old Northumbrialand blokes playing their over 45 stones County stuff. It was funny. They can’t get past the half court line coz its too far, and struggle to open the door in between games with their arthur itis. They’ve all got permanent colds, smell of a mixture of out of date Deep Heat and Charity Shops, and have more bandages between then than Ben Bandage The Bandage Bloke who sells Bandages. They use the minute and a half in between games to have a nice Cup of Tea, a Rich Tea biscuit and a good old trip down Memory Lane. Get yourself down to watch. Maybe take them a nice blanket, some hearty soup and a smidgin of Hope. Laters. Bobby.
