INTER-COUNTY FINALS SEASON 2011/2012
It was the second season in the Elite top 8 group of counties for the Ladies county team. The venue this time was Hallamshire Squash Club in Sheffield.
Team – SARAH BOWLES, SAM WARD, LUCY BEECROFT, EMMA BARNETT and KAREN HERON.
First match was against LANCASHIRE with a place in the semi-finals at stake and it was to be a close one. Wins for Beecroft and Heron set up a decider for Sam Ward at number 2 but it wasn’t to be losing out in a fifth game tie-break.

Next up was to be a very important match as the loser would lose their place in the Premier league for next season. The opponents were MIDDLESEX but it was to be a convincing 5-0 win and safely secure their place for the 3rd year in the top 8.

On Sunday morning was the 5th/6th play-off against Surrey, Sam Ward got a win but the team lost 4-1 and finished the weekend in 6th place.
