Fantastic crowds for the finals with many games to savour and enjoy.

Dave Barnett vs Liam Gutcher - 11/7 8/11 11/7 11/5

Dave was playing in his 12th final in a row and later admitted to being nervous all week. The first game was certainly nervous and littered with unaccustomed errors from both players. Liam came out fighting in the second taking it deservedly with an attacking display. Dave patiently got back on track in the 3rd with Liam having to cover an awful lot of court just to stay in the match. Lots of play down the back hand side with numerous lets. Dave closing out the game for a 2-1 lead. Now down to the business end of the match and Dave looking the stronger and fitter of the two. Dave pressurising Liam into making mistakes and it is an error from Liam that gives Dave his 12th consecutive County Championship. Now equal with Elliot Proctor but some way to go to overtake Bryan Beeson who has 15 wins.

Lucy Beecroft vs Kimberley Hay - 6/11 11/9 13/11 11/7

Lucy has looked very focused all weekend playing good squash with Kimberley also performing well. The match was finely balanced at 1-1 and the 3rd game was to prove crucial ending with Lucy winning in extra points. Lucy closed out the match with a convincing 4th game to win her 2nd County Championship.

The ladies kicked things off with Lucy and Kim providing the highest level of ladies squash I’ve ever seen in a County final! The pace, accuracy, skill and sheer dogged determination as well as tremendous fitness made it such a competitive edge of your seat final!” Maurice Cliff
