Item 2 – League sponsorship per season.
-
The Northumbria League now need a new sponsor for the 2017/18 season with offers in the region of £1500.00. This could be offered by a single sponsor or shared between more than 1 sponsor.
- Proposer: Jim Douglas Seconder: Dave Barnett
-
Name(s) would be on header of all league information, tables, fixtures, marking pads, website etc
Any newspaper reports on league would have sponsors name(s) e.g. as it used to be Jennings Ford Northumbria squash league
The money would go towards paying for the League Secretaries time used to generate fixtures and updating the tables throughout the season and to supply all clubs with marking pads
Many thanks to Kevin Whitfield for sponsoring the League for many years.
Item 3 – Cup Matches.
-
When a player is tied to a higher team, that player can still play for his nominated team in any cup matches.
- Proposer: Dave Barnett Seconder: John Thompson
Item 4 – League Rules Amendments.
-
After another year of the league running almost smoothly, there have been some areas of the rules that need to be addressed to achieve a greater consistency. This will be explained in more detail at the AGM by the league secretary.
- Proposer: John Thompson Seconder: Dave Barnett
Item 5 – Ladies Leagues Teams A&B etc;
-
Please consider the negative effect it has on weaker/smaller teams to have an A and B team of similar standards (players 1,3, 5,7,9 on A and 2,4,6,8, 10 on B). It is very demoralising playing two top teams (per big club) that are so evenly matched. We would propose that the normal rules of ranking all the clubs players, then allocating to top team, the second team etc be resumed.
- Proposer: Lorna Chambers Seconder: Debs Haugh
