Liam Gutcher, one of Northumbria’s junior coaches, has challenged all junior players to come together and run/cycle 1000km (cumulatively) with the aim of raising money to support the county’s junior squash program!
The challenge is running from 25th April to 23rd May and is an excellent way to reinvigorate our junior players to get active, re-connect with their teammates and get back into squash after little to no squash being allowed for almost a year.
The initiative kicked off on Sunday 25th April with a group run & cycle at Newcastle’s town moor and other group sessions will be held throughout the event. Juniors are also encouraged to participate in their own time to help meet the ambitious 1000km target!
With 13 days to go the juniors have already achieved an impressive 587.5km and are well on track to reach the target! We have also raised £315 at the time of writing, which is excellent, so thank you to those who have donated so far!
This weeks top contributors are:
- Joe Elliot – 52KM
- Duncan Rutherford – 47KM
- Ryan Cockett – 34KM
So lets see who can beat Joe this week?
