The 1000KM Junior Challenge – Results

The Northumbria Junior Squash 1000km Challenge came to an end on 23rd May and we are happy to announce the final totals!

A total of 22 junior players managed to collectively run/cycle a massive 1381km in just 28 days, smashing our original target of 1000km! We are very proud of everyone who took part in this excellent achievement.

The overall top 3 contributors during this challenge were:

Joe Elliott – 262km
Duncan Rutherford – 167km
Dan Toole – 120km

A special shout-out has to go to Joe Elliott who cycled an amazing 262km, which is equal to just over 6 marathons, all in less than 1 month!

In terms of donations, we reached a grand total of £606.25 (including gift aid estimates) and we are very grateful to everyone who donated and supported those who took part. The money raised will be used to help reinvigorate our junior program by improving the funding for coaching sessions and events.

Overall we believe this challenge was a huge success as we achieved our mains aims of; re-engaging with our junior players, helping them re-connect with their teammates after a long time apart and raising money for our junior program, all while improving fitness levels!

Thanks again to everyone who donated and supported this challenge and to all juniors who participated!
