A group of players from Northern & Newbiggin stormed the Scottish capital to play in the Edinburgh Sports Club Open from 5th – 8th Jan!
The tournament included 6 graded draws which are played alongside the Men’s and Women’s PSA events!
A Event –
Cai Younger finished in 4th place in the A Event after losing in round 1 of the PSA event! Alex Roberston finished in 10th place.
B Event –
Dave Jackson won the B event title, beating his opponent 11-9 in the 5th game🥇! Simon Broatch managed a 10th-placed finish.
D Event –
A great tournament for Rob Black, who finished in 2nd after unfortunately having to withdraw from the final. Andrew Black placed in 5th, while Bob Aynsley was 9th!
E Event –
John Armstrong narrowly lost out 11-9 in the 5th game of the E event semi-final, but regrouped to win the 3rd/4th playoff! Joel Birch-Machin wasn’t far behind with a 5th-placed finish and Tegan Younger ended in 9th. Andy Smith and Stuart Mitchell were 13th & 15th respectively, while Gary Law had to withdraw due to an injury.
F Event –
Dave North had a respectable 4th-place finish after losing in the semi-final to the eventual F event winner! Michael Linsley finished in 6th place and Peter Thompson was 13th.
