British Engines, a North-East based leading engineering group, has recently provided funding to allow 10 children from disadvantaged communities to join Tynemouth Squash Club for free! The funding also included all the equipment the juniors would need to get started, such as a racket and protective eyewear!
This support was provided by the British Engines Community Fund. This fund is one of the ways British Engines gives back and supports work carried out in the area through local charities, youth and community groups. The Community Fund is an internal scheme committed to helping as many organisations as possible that are close to their employees’ hearts.
Tim Mazzucchi of Tynemouth Squash Club had this to say about the funding:
“The award was much appreciated and helped us reach out to new junior members enabling us to provide safety goggles and rackets to set them on their way to hopefully a lifetime of squash!”
