A team of 8 U13C boys and girls including James Southern, Rebecca Little, Will Brocklehurst and Magnus McKay from Northumbria competed in the recent Aspire Championships where they were part of the North East team. Others in photo – Travis Yu, Ernie Jordan, Florence Jordan, Eleanor Everington-Hunt with coach Kirsty Beachill.
In very hot and humid conditions in Leamington Spa the team defeated the South and North West on day one and then beat East on day two to top their group.
This set up a final with West Midlands where the team narrowly lost the final 5-3 to finish in silver medal place!

Ducan Rutherford and Aidan Mahoney, both from Northern, had excellent results with 3 wins and 4 wins respectively during the event in Daventry, leading the North East A team to 4th place overall!
Ava and Kate Naisbitt from Northern were included in the B team that travelled to Coventry & North Warwickshire to compete in a very competitive team where they finished in 7th place! – Kevan Mahoney
