    INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

    U19 – Team- Kim Hay, Rachael Oswald, Sam Ward, Catherine De Keiweit and Anna Gibson. They played at Tynemouth squash club against Yorkshire, losing 4-1 and Durham and Cleveland winning 3-2. Which should be enough to progress to the next stage.

    They did make it through to the semi-final group from which a top 2 finish would earn a place in the final. They lost to Yorkshire 3-2, lost to North wales 3-2 and beat Lancashire 3-2 finishing 3rd and failing to progress and defend their title. Team – Kim Hay, Sam Ward, Rachael Oswald, Anna Gibson and Beth Robertson.

    U17- Team- Sam Ward, Lucy Beecroft, Maria Bainbridge, Jayne Oswald and Emma Haley. They travelled to Windscale in Cumbria and played Yorkshire losing 4-1 and Cumbria winning 3-2.

    Played at the Northumberland Club a top 2 finish would again earn a final place. They won their first 2 matches against Warwickshire 4-1 and Lancashire 3-2, then narrowly missed out on beating Yorkshire losing 3-2 but finished in 2nd place and progress to the finals in Lilleshaw. Team – Sam Ward, Lucy Beecroft, Maria Bainbridge, Jayne Oswald and Emma Haley.

    U15- Team- Maria Bainbridge, Jayne Oswald, Emma Haley and Charlotte Cooper (Lucy Beecroft mising due to illness). They travelled to Barnsley and played Yorkshire and Cumbria beating both 3-2 and winning the group.

    With Lucy Beecroft back in the team they demolished their opposition beating Yorkshire and Leicestershire 5-0, and North Wales 4-1. They head to the finals in Guilford with a great chance! Team – Lucy Beecroft, Maria Bainbridge, Jayne Oswald, Charlotte Cooper and Emma Haley.

    U13- Team- Manon Williams, Laura Neill and Georgia Hansen. They played in Pontefract, Yorkshire. They beat Cheshire 2-1 but lost tp Yorkshire and North Wales 3-0.

    They made the journey to Cheshire for the second half , they lost to Cheshire 3-0, Leicester 2-1 and Worcestershire….great effort from Northumberland club coach Jane Dennis who has taken the young girls under her wing and travelled to the macthes with them! Team – Laura Neill, Manon Williams and Georgia Webster.
