Girls Under 17

FIRST HALF SEASON 2011/12.

It was a trip to Cumbria for the girls and matches at Windscale Squash Club. With a withdrawel from Lancashire only 2 matches against Yorkshire and Cumbria.

Team – LUCY BEECROFT, MARIA BAINBRIDGE, CHARLOTTE COOPER, EMMA HALEY and GEORGIA WEBSTER.

First up were the hosts and that was to be a close 4-1 victory with only Emma Haley losing out.

Secondly was Yorkshire and this time a narrower 3-2 win but the top order were emphatic in their wins so victory and topping the group was never in doubt.

INTER-COUNTY FINALS SEASON 2010/2011

The finals weekend was at Engalnd squash’s new impressive facility at Surrey University.

Team – LUCY BEECROFT, MARIA BAINBRIDGE, EMMA HALEY, CHARLOTTE COOPER and CAITLIN VITTY.

The semi-final wa against Gloucestershire. Despite all 5 matches being close the team lost 4-1 with only Emma Haley winning through in 5 games.

This left us playing for 3rd/4th play-off and it wasn’t to get any easier against a very strong Warwickshire team and the team lost 5-0 with only Lucy and Maria managing to get a game.

SECOND HALF SEASON 2010/2011

On the 30th of January the u17 team hosted the second stage at Tynemouth Squash club.

Team – LUCY BEECROFT, MARIA BAINBRIDGE, JAYNE OSWALD, EMMA HALEY and CHARLOTTE COOPER

The first match vs WARWICKSHIRE. This was always going to be the toughest match of the weekend with Warwickshire having a very strong team. Lucy Beecroft almost upset Chloe Pearson at number 1 but just lost out 12-10 in the fifth. Warwickshire were to win all of their matches on the day.

Second match was aginst NORTH WALES. Lucy, Jayne and Charlotte won their matches and we got a narrow 3-2 victory.

The third and deciding match was against YORKSHIRE  who had also won one and lost one. Lucy and Charlotte again came up with a wins, Jayne and Emma lost leaving Maria to play the decider. Maria came through with her best performance of the day beating Emily Peach 11-9 in the fifth to seal victory.

By winning 2 of the 3 matches the team made it through to the inter-county finals.

FIRST HALF SEASON 2010/2011

On the 24th they travelled to LANCASHIRE to play the hosts along with NORTH WALES and CUMBRIA.

Venue- Fairways Lodge Squash club, Lancashire

Team- Lucy Beecroft. Maria Bainbridge, Jayne Oswald, Emma Haley and Charlotte Cooper.

First match was against hosts Lancashire and it was to be an emphatic win with all girls winning 3-0 and getting off to a flying start.

Second match was against North Wales and this proved to be the toughest with all girls getting pushed and only Lucy Beecroft managing a 3-0. It was still a reasonably convincing win, 4-1.

The final match was against a Cumbrian team who only had 4 players, it was again an impressive victory winning 5-0 and topping the group to advance to the next stage.
