The county’s first ever Racketball county closed took place at Tynemouth Squash Club on the 28th March. Organised by Ray Rycroft, there were 4 events played in a round robin format.
MEN’S – Nick Hale from the Northumberland Club became Men’s County Champion beating Paul Millington in the final.
LADIE’S – Chris Park, also from the Northumberland Club, won the Ladies’ event beating Gill Millington in the final.
MEN’S B EVENT – Junior Stephen Twaddle won this event beating Nick Park 2-1 in the final.
JUNIORS – Stephen Twaddle won again beating Tynemouth’s Greg Bojke 2-0 in the final.
Racketball is a growing sport in the county and hopefully next years event will be bigger and better.
