British Open Masters 2023

The 2023 edition of the British Open Masters Championships were held from 6th – 11th June at Colets Health & Fitness Club in Surrey. The tournament saw some of the best masters players from Britain, along with international entrants, compete to be crowned champions of their age category.

After a comfortable opening-round win Tony Pensom (pictured, right) had a mammoth battle in the quarter-finals with 3/4 seed Geoff Walton. Tony came out on top winning 11-7 in the 5th to progress to the semi-final! The semis were a step too far, as Tony lost 3-0 ( 8-11, 5-11, 3-11) but still a great result to finish top 4!

Steve Calvert won his opening 2 games comfortably, but fell in the quarters to the 3/4 seed after a hard-fought 3-0 loss (6-11, 15-17, 2-11).

Jamie Douglas lost 3-0 (5-11, 9-11,6-11) in the QF to the no.1 seed, and eventual MO35s runner-up, Alex Phillips.
