Home Masters Internationals 2024

We’re very proud to have had 5 players from our region representing their respective countries at the 2024 Home Masters Internationals. This is a yearly event where England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland face -off against each other to be crowned champions at the various masters’ age categories.

Jamie Douglas represented the England MO35 team for the 2nd year in a row, travelling to Cardiff in search of the Home Internationals title. The team were flawless throughout the event beating each team 5-0 to claim the MO35 title, while Jamie lost just 28 points across his 3 matches.

After winning the Scottish Masters WO40 event Lizzie Little (The Northumberland Club) was selected as #1 for the team who played in Edinburgh. The Scottish team came 3rd winning 1 match from 3, while Lizzie won 3-1 vs Ireland and 3-0 against England, only losing to the event winners Wales.

Bryan Beeson (The Northumberland Club) was again selected to represent the England MO60 team who also travelled to Edinburgh for their event. Playing at no.1 Bryan won 2 of his 3 matches to lead the England team to the title after winning 59 points from a possible 60!

Adrian Alderton (Hexham) got called up to the Welsh team and travelled to Nottingham to take on their home nation rivals. Adrian won 1 of 2 matches, beating his Irish counterpart 3-2 in the final fixture. Unfortunately, Wales finished 4th with 13 points after losing their 3 fixtures.

For the 2nd consecutive year, Tony Pensom (Consett) was drafted in to the England MO70s squad, who were looking to defend their title in Dublin. Tony won both his matches, including a 12-10 win in the 5th against Scotland which sealed the title win for his team, as England just edged out Ireland by 52 points to 49.
