It was the first time at Sunderland for MatchPoint Squash #11, and the event did not disappoint! 44 players from 15 clubs played 68 matches across 5 graded categories on a scorching summer day.
The main A event final saw the top 2 seeds, Jordan Hardwick and Liam Gutcher, battle it out for their 2nd MatchPoint title. Jordan put on a clinical display to take game 1 11/4, and despite a concerted effort from Liam in game 2, it was Jordan who took the victory 11/8, giving him a 100% win rate in the events so far!

D Plate: Ryan Jackson bt Phil Riches – 11/5 – 9/11 – 11/8
E Event: Phil Jervis bt Barney Ulyatt – 11/7 – 11/5
E Plate: Neil Paterson bt Clara Westwood – 9/11 – 11/9 – 11/6
Player of the tournament goes to Tony Hockey from Primrose, winning the B event by beating the top 2 seeds and saving multiple match balls in a marathon final! Backing up his B event win from Northern in May.
Junior of the tournament is awarded to William Brocklehurst (Northern), who came through the qualifier round and beat 3 of the top 4 seeds to win the C event!
