JUNIOR COUNTY CLOSED 2025 – RESULTS

Our junior county champions were crowned last weekend, as a host of new players and reigning champions took to the court at Northern Squash Club.

Top seed Freddie Gilberg topped the 4-player group without dropping a game to reclaim his U11 title! And a mention to runner-up Archer Robson, who came back from 2-0 down to win 19-17 in the fifth in a decisive match.

Hector won both his matches in a competitive U13 draw, winning the final match against Isaac in a 13-11 tiebreaker in the 5th, to take his maiden county title.

Salma and Hannah finished 1st in their respective groups to set up a final for the GU13 title. Hannah took a 1-0 and 2-1 lead in the match, but Salma fought her way back to win 3-2, backing up her U11’s title from last year!

James Southern won the BU15 at the 1st time of asking in a dominant display without dropping any games, his 4th county title to date. Kiran put in a good performance too, edging past William Ingram in the semi-final to reach the top 2.

Unseeded Sophia took the event by storm, winning all 3 of her group games by 3-0 to win her 1st ever county title! Elizabeth was 3 points behind to pick up the silver medal.

In a repeat of last year’s final, the top 2 seeds faced off in the final group match to decide the title. Duncan just did enough to defend his title, taking the 5th 12-10 to win his 5th junior title!

Just days after reaching the Northern Ladies’ final, Lucy Ulyatt was back in another final, this time against clubmate Freya Finnemore. Lucy was victorious on this occasion and took home the GU17 title!

Not content with a runners-up medal in the BU17, Sam Tufton took the under-19s title after 3-0 wins vs Ethan Brown and Euan Wayman. Euan took 2nd spot with a 3-0 win against Ethan.
