Our juniors are continuing their fine form at the start of the tournament season! We had 6 representatives in the Chichester Open, the inaugural gold event of 2025/26, who all performed admirably.
Salma Barkouk played her 1st gold event at the U13 level, finishing 20th and picking up valuable experience.
In the Boy U13 category, Huey Lamb battled his way to an excellent 5th place, losing just 1 of his 5 matches in the process and continues his climb up the rankings! Meanwhile, James Southern placed 7th in the BU15, winning 3 from 5 – including an upset win against the 3/4 seed Oscar Brown!
Little sisters Emma and Rebecca competed in the GU15 and GU17 events, respectively, with Emma winning 2 matches to finish 19th. Rebecca lost her opening match but bounced back with 3 wins in succession to place 9th!
Finally, Duncan Rutherford (BU17) had a great event, narrowly losing out in 5 to the 2nd seed in the quarter finals, but regaining to finish 5th by winning his 2 remaining placement matches.
