Joe Witherspoon (jgw2010@me.com) is the County Association’s designated Safeguarding Lead, to whom any safeguarding issues should be addressed in the first instance. Joe, his deputy Liam Gutcher and Richard Vitty are the Association’s Safeguarding Officers.
Our complete Safeguarding policy is published below. The County Association supports the England Squash Safe Squash initiative, including policies on safeguarding children, safeguarding adults at risk and equality and urges member clubs to do likewise.
The England Squash Code of Conduct has been issued to all member clubs, and any reported breaches of the code are dealt with by a county conduct committee consisting of Joe Witherspoon, John Thompson and Dave Barnett. Fortunately, this committee has needed to meet on only very rare occasions since its inception.
