The Senior County Closed is played every January in conjunction with the Northumbria Masters County Closed and is open to all Northumbrian players. The Men’s County Closed has been running since 1954, and the Women’s event started 17 years later in 1971. Bryan Beeson holds the record for the most Men’s titles with 15, while Jane Martin has 11 wins to top the Women’s honours list.
